Don’t be scared, that’s exactly what the media wants you to be, it seems to work because everyone seems to be scared. If you did just happen to get this “flu” I sure wouldn’t go to the doctor or the hospital. Here is why…
“This isn’t the first time the public has been warned about swine flue. The last time was in 1976, it resulted in the massive swine flu vaccine campaign.”
“However, several hundred people developed crippling Guillain- Barre Syndrome after they were injected with the swine flu vaccine. Even healthy 20-year-old ended up as paraplegics.”
“And the swine flu pandemic itself? It never materialized. More People Died From the Swine Flu Vaccine then Swine Flue! In 1918, when Spanish Flu killed millions the majority of the deaths hit after the vaccinations.”

  2. Che M Says:

Avoid close contact with people who are sick. Stay away from hospitals unless you’re having an emergency, as hospitals could be one of the likeliest places you could be exposed to swine virus. Avoid visiting crowded public area unless it’s really necessary. Wear a facemask or N95 respirator when entering crowded settings and when you go to the doctors. A facemask is not very secure because it can be inhaled around the edges. N95 respirator fits snugly on your face but compared with a facemask it is harder to breathe through an N95 mask for long periods of time. Skip public transportation. The Swine Flu Virus is spread through the air. Any place, such as a bus or plane, that causes you to be confined with others in a small place,
    Practice other good health habits.
Washing your hands often will help protect you from germs. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs are often spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches his or her eyes, nose, or mouth. Wash your hands often, especially before, during, and after preparing food. Before you eat and after going to the bathroom. Use alcohol wipes to clean shopping carts handles, restaurant tables and high chairs. Studies have shown that influenza virus can survive on environmental surfaces and can infect a person for up to 2-8 hours after being deposited on the surface.
    Get Enough Rest.
Just like it becomes harder for you to get your daily tasks done if you’re tired, if your body is overly fatigued it will be harder for it to fight the flu. Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage your stress and drink plenty of fluids.
    Eat Garlic Regularly
Garlic does more than make our food taste good, it can aid in the healing and even prevention of certain medical conditions. Studies have shown that garlic extract improves immune function, giving our natural defense system a boost, and helping it conserve our levels of antioxidants in our system. It is this strengthening of the immune system that aids in its support for other health related conditions.
    Exercise
Exercise increase circulation of blood flow throughout your body. The components of your immune system are also better circulated, which means your immune system has a better chance of combating an intruders before it has a chance to cause havoc in your body. Exercising helps your immune system to be more efficient in weeding out and acting upon viruses and diseases.
    Establish a healthy diet plan
Establish a consistent diet plan that consists of all your vitamins and minerals. Add diversity to your diet by way of implementing a variety of fruits, vegetables and other foods to promote general health and well being. Eat about 2 servings of yogurt, preferably the type with special digestive enzymes which promote the growth of healthy bacteria that is needed to aid in a healthy immune system. Green tea is also a world renown supplement which improves metabolic function and increases immunity.

Just pay attention to those around you. If they are sick with the flu like symptoms, leave. Wash your hands frequently and avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
You don’t need to wear masks unless you go near someone you know has it. Then, wear at least an N95. however I would stay away.
Do NOT get the vaccination for the swine flu AT ALL! It has been said it killed more people than the actual flu has, but overall, the government has been earning ALOT of money for the vaccines to get done. 1 has died from the flu while 25 people has died from the vaccine, so just stay away from people who have it and don’t take the vaccination.
    you’ll be fine.

  4. ? Says:

Just be sure to wash your hands–ALWAYS. When you get home from work/school, after you use the bathroom, or even after you have just been at your friend’s house. Oh, and the Swine Flu symptoms are the same as any regular flu:
    1. You’re always drowsy
    2. You feel weak, and don’t ever feel like getting up and walking around or something
    3. Diarrhea/vomiting
    4. Your muscles are soar
    5. You have constant headaches occurring mainly in the BACK of your head.
And, Yes, I’ve had the flu before (not swine–thank God).

  5. Alyssa Says:

The worst thing you could do is panic, which you are currently doing.
Are you unhealthy? Do you or have you had good medical for most of your life? These questions easily determine what your outcome would be if you caught it.
This is one disease that is media hyped. People here are scared because people in Mexico have died, and there are many cases there. Mexico is a far cry from our nation of America. Before you get any more scared or go out and purchase 3 gallons of hand sanitizer, you should pay attention to all of the factors in this.
Mexico. Fairly poor country. Pretty bad healthcare. Lots of unhealthy citizens. This is why people down THERE are dying. These people are not particularly healthy and do not have good healthcare.
United States. Pretty rich. Fairly decent healthcare, and medicine. For the most part, healthy inhabitants. This is why U.S. cases are mild. The only person confirmed to have died from it is an infant, and infants aren’t exactly the best at staying away from disease. While there have been below 500 cases, this is much lower than any other flu strain, like the normal ones that come through each winter. And, there are many more deaths for the average flu.
    What does this say?
The Swine Flu IS an average flu. Europe has come to their senses and already given it a typical flu strain name, H1N1. The media has scared everyone into believing that this is a deadly pandemic, when it is not. It only seems deadly because there is currently no cure.
    What has the media done?
Stimulated the economy. Yes, there are people that have purchased their 3 gallons of hand sanitizer and have stocked up on tons of other typical disease-stay-away things.
    What’s ironic about this?
200 years ago, it was said a black person would be President when pigs could fly. Now, we have Barack Obama, and an airborn flu strain named after pigs.
    So…calm down.

  6. MASTER BLEH Says:

run panic its the end of the world
also don’t listen to the media they talk rubbish
wait it out and its a flu not the bloody great plague of europe that killed millions we have vaccines and it is very possible for people to get the swine flu and for your body to fight it off like any other flu’s
if it does get worst in the unlikeliness phone a doctor and they will tell you what to do but dont panic

  7. Carlton J Says:

its ok- many people are scared about getting it. but the best thing to do is not worry about it. if you are more confident, your immune system gets a boost- heightening your chances to fight it off- if you catch it. as how to prevent catching it, thats simple. keep a good personal hygene,(wash your hands often, and dont sneeze into the air) also stay off of sharing drinks and food for a while ( this is if you live close to the areas where there have been cases of it. and staying away from crowded places won’t hurt either. but seriously- dont worry about it. even if you do catch it, no one from the u.s. has ever died of it- because of our excellent hospital system.

  8. lebronjm Says:

Stop worrying. As long as you’re not in direct contact with anyone infected, you’ll be fine. Wash your hands (which is a given) and know who you are around. 36,000 people die each year just from Seasonal Flu complications. There’s nothing to be worried about…we have some of the best vaccines and medicines in the world. Also, the people that have died already were from Mexico where it was difficult to seek medical attention. We should grateful to be in America.

  9. Jamie G Says:

Go to Mexico and kiss a sick pig, then cough in a plastic bag and breath is back in…
really people? are we going to continue with this mass hysteria? more people die from the common flu, than there are global outbreaks of the swine flu.

  10. Blondie Says:

Make sure you wash your hands as much as possible. Keep some hand sanitizer around and try to avoid really public places, but don’t let the fear of contracting the disease get in the way of living your life.

  11. Lindsey B Says:

Hand sanitizer. There’s no vaccines, but there’s anti-viral meds. like Tamiflu.

  12. ? Says:

wear a doctors mask , if you take the subway bring hand sanitizer and use it whenever you touch something.

  13. Ashleigh Says:

Wash your hands often, and try not to breath unless you absolutely have to.

  14. T.J. Says:

    Don’t go to Mexico.
    Stay away from swine?

  15. luckypap Says:

  16. Sarah Says:

wash your hands and keep them away from your nose and mouth
